MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Southwest Center for the Martial Arts is
to:
-
Teach traditional Okinawan Shorin-Ryu
Karate
-
Provide a clean, safe, well equipped
school
-
Assist in the development of self
discipline and confidence, physical and mental strength
-
Create positive attitudes, and assist in
overcoming self imposed limitations inside and outside of the karate
school
We accomplish this mission through progressive,
systematic curriculums and training methods, which are designed to
help students achieve ranking objectives and emphasize the character
building aspects of karate. Essential ingredients are the
participation and contributions of time, talent, and abilities of
caring instructors and students. Our goal is to assist every student
to achieve BLACK BELT EXCELLENCE!
We teach Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate, a complete martial
arts system that incorporates hard, fast, straight-line punches and
strikes, powerful kicks, and both hard and soft type effective defense
movements. It is from Okinawan Shorin-Ryu that almost all styles of
Karate have developed. Shorin-Ryu is most appropriate and effective
for self-defense, sport, physical fitness, mental discipline, and
self-confidence. It is ideal for both men and women because it's
effectiveness is based on speed and agility, rather than physical
size.
