About the SWCMA
Kids need strong role model who set a positive example for them to follow. Our professional, staff of caring instructors, are some of the best role models children could have. Because we realize how much our students look up to us, we work hard to set a positive example for them by living the martial arts principles of honesty, integrity, courage, kindness and self-control.
Children are hard-wired to seek attention and approval, so when kids see positive behaviors demonstrated by our instructors, they are strongly driven to display those same behaviors in their own actions.
SWCMA takes pride in the quality of our instructors. We are constantly recruiting and training new instructors to join our team. We have weekly training seminars to train and review the lesson plans and objectives of the next week session. Each instructor has a lesson plan for the class they teach. We expect our instructors to be a good role model.
SWCMA has been in the karate arena for well over 16 years. Over 16 years ago we formed the Arizona State Karate Alliance (ASKA), a non-profit organization formed for the purpose of allowing children and adults, from any style of Martial Arts, to get National ranking without flying all over the United States. This organization has produced hundreds of State and National Champions. We had watched many children of all ages grow and mature into Champions. We also watched many of these young people mature into adults.
We owned and operated a karate school for over six years in Arizona, providing after school transport programs, fall break, winter break, spring break, and summer camps, along with a regular karate programs. We were also teaching afterschool enrichment programs for private, charter schools, church schools and for schools district.
In 2011, we made a corporate decision, to dedicate and direct our efforts to teaching only the after school enrichment program and summer camps offered by the various Unified School Districts, USD Community Ed Departments , Private Schools, Charter Schools and Church Schools.
With so many years in the art and as Officers and Directors of the ASKA we know most of the martial arts school owners and many of the black belts in the Valley. This gives us an excellent pool of qualified instructors to pull from. Since we no longer are school owners we have no conflict in interest.
We understand and believe the Afterschool Programs provide a great service and educational experience for children of all ages. It is convenient for parents, it is onsite at the school and kids are still in their own comfort space with their own friends. Even the smallest or shyest can feel safe, have fun and learn with their friends.
This is a service to the community that only the School District,
the Schools and Community Education can make possible and we believe
we have the martial arts program to compliment all after school
programs.
